What can alter an accident at work claim timeline?

A claim involves co-ordinating lots of different elements simultaneously. From the legal processes driving the claim, to establishing liability, and the complexity of the injuries sustained, all can impact timescales.

Some are out of the control of the file handler, including if there’s a requirement for a court case to decide liability, or how much initial evidence has been gathered. There are also the timetables of medical specialists if they are needed to support you in your recovery and rehabilitation from injuries.

How long should a claim take?

When dealing with an accident at work claim, the timeline for establishing liability and receiving compensation can vary from months to years. In claims with particularly complex injuries, the impact of these and the alterations required to cater for a future changed by the injuries can mean a longer duration to your claim.

Be assured though, our team will work as diligently and efficiently as timescales will allow to ensure you receive the compensation you deserve after a non-fault accident.

What could speed up the process?

Although certain circumstances are beyond our control, there are things you can do to help move your claim closer to a successful conclusion.

Gather as much evidence as possible in the first instance. The closer to the event your evidence is gathered the less likely it is that something will be missed – for example, CCTV footage of the accident, and witness testimonies, which will be more vivid – which could support your claim later down the line.

Remain co-operative throughout. Although our team will handle the vast majority of tasks involved with making a claim, there may be times when they need you to provide certain pieces of paperwork. Do so quickly and it lessens the duration of inactivity on the file while your handler waits for documentation.

Our aim is to get you the compensation you deserve as quickly as possible; your support assists us in that aim.
